The Best Restaurant Websites in Los Angeles
April 1, 2022
Los Angeles restaurants are using BentoBox to grow their brands and increase their revenue. Here are some of our favorite examples.
Across the country, restaurant operators are preparing to face the "new normal" — and Los Angeles, CA, restaurants are no different.
To do this, many restaurants are creating best-in-class websites that meet the challenges — and seize the opportunities — of the current moment. They're investing in custom design to leave a strong, brand-first impression on future diners. They're setting up online commerce stores to diversify revenue and fight back against third-party commissions. And they're integrating websites with other technology to streamline workflows and operate with fewer, higher-paid staff members.
Want to see how that looks in action? We curated some of the best Los Angeles websites built on BentoBox, the premier online marketing and commerce platform for restaurants. Check them out below.
Damian
Like its twin concept Cosme in New York City, Damian is an upscale Mexican masterclass from renowned chef Enrique Olvera. A glowing review from Timeout described its vibe as "a minimalist design lover's dream," and the design of its website matches that aesthetic with stark-but-chic features and a simple, intuitive site map. Within its navigation bar, the website also uses a large script font to increase the prominence of Ditroit, the daytime-only taqueria that Damian operates as a sub-brand.
Socalo
After expanding Border Grill to Las Vegas, where it now does most of its business, powerhouse duo Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken returned to LA with Socalo in 2019. The funky Cal-Mexican restaurant, located in Santa Monica's Gateway Hotel, serves quick counter service at in the day and full-service dinner at night. Its website showcases all sides of the well-rounded menu, but it also drives revenue through the online catering store, which Socalo uses to sell meal kits and accompanying fix-ins.
Toca Madera
Toca Madera's website is a spectacle brimming with lights, colors and energy. This is perfectly on-brand for the upscale Mexican restaurant, which has thrived in West Hollywood and is opening a new location in Las Vegas. The website makes Toca Madera feel like an experience as much as a meal, which helps guests in the "research" phase make a dining decision. However, the website does far more than drive foot traffic: It also drives substantial revenue with online gift cards and BentoBox online ordering, where its premium menu images feature prominently.

Delilah
Since opening in 2016, Delilah has become a household name for trendy West Hollywood partygoers. The 1920's-style lounge is known for ornate decorations and occasional celebrity spottings, and its reach is expanding with a new location at the Wynn in Las Vegas and Miami. Its website captures its uber-chic spirit with a mix of moody photography and pastel pink-and-green graphics. It also allows guests to easily submit online event inquiries, a popular request for parts of "the scene."
Anwar's Kitchen
Anwar's Kitchen was created by social media star Anwar Jiwabi, who knows a thing or two about maintaining a brand and business online. The website for Anwar's Kitchen explains the genesis of the concept — a shared love for cooking between Anwar and his mother, who derived the restaurant's menu from family recipes — but also does a great job converting site traffic into customers. The homepage features multiple prompts to order directly, and the BentoBox online ordering platform is optimized with high-quality menu photos and clear item descriptions.
The Bagel Broker
"Best Bagel in Los Angeles" is a subject of great debate, and you'll rarely find a list that excludes The Bagel Broker. Since opening its Fairfax location more than 30 years ago, the family-owned and operated store has charmed guests with its no-frills counter service and diverse selection of warm, fresh bagels. But despite its old-school ethos, its owners have embraced technology and turned its website into a revenue-driver. The homepage includes conversion-focused copy about being "LA's Best Breakfast Catering," and from there guests can easily place a direct order through BentoBox Pre-Order & Catering.
Superba
Great web design is achieved through a harmony of standout typography, supporting color schemes and intuitive functionality. Superba’s website achieves this with clean sans serif fonts and a simple black and yellow color scheme. High-resolution photography helps site visitors get a sense of the brand, its offerings and general vibe, while gestural illustrations on the homepage help guests navigate to sections for each of the shop's four locations.
