June 2024: What’s New at BentoBox?

New this month are improvements to Menu Management and Diner Database, from more flexibility around column design on menus to stronger insight into diner birthdays. Find all the details below.

1. AI Content

The content on your website plays a big role in engaging customers, driving online traffic, and enhancing your brand visibility and recognition. However, we know that writing content can be time consuming, especially when you have so many other focus areas.

AI Text Generator is now available on all content boxes within the backend of the BentoBox Marketing & Commerce platform. From your About page to Private Events landing page, use our in-app text generator to speed up onboarding and add additional context to your website.

2. Menu Layout Enhancements

There’s more customization available for menu layouts on your website. Previously, there were options for one, two, or three columns. Now, we support a flex column design. Sections can now be stacked instead of limited to columns, and the menu items will wrap from center based on how many are in the section.

3. Last Updated Field

When looking at your full list of items, menus, and modifiers, see when the last update occurred and sort based on that date.

4. Updated Dietary Tags

Diners want to know what they can and cannot eat when they go to a restaurant. Dietary and allergy tags are now updated to include diet types (like Keto, Paleo, Plant Based, Non Alcoholic, Low Sodium), spice ratings (Hot, Medium, Mild), and other disclosures (like Undercooked, Contains raw egg, Raw).

Dietary tags included within Menu Management will display across Takeout & Delivery, Online Catering, and Restaurant Websites. Help diners make smart decisions when placing orders or coming to visit you by tagging your items.

5. Repositioning Capabilities

As part of Menu Management, you can now reposition your item sizes and modifiers to display in the order that you want instead of when they were created. Drag and drop to customize.

6. Bulk Delete

Coming soon. Bulk delete items from Menu Management.

7. Diner Birthday 

Diner birthdays are now displayed directly on the diner profile. During the diner’s birthday month, an icon appears at the top of the diner profile next to the diner's name.

Additionally, you can now collect a website visitor’s birth year through the Diner Sign-Up Overlays, which previously only captured month and day. This makes it even easier to send diners targeted birthday promotions to drive repeat visits and orders.
