Elephante

Elephante Beach House overlooks the Pacific Ocean, but guests can be forgiven for feeling transported to the Southern Mediterranean. The same is true of website visitors, who are greeted on the homepage by a relaxing, full-bleed video of palm trees rustling before a sunset. The new website also prominently features the restaurant's eye-catching logo, which uses earthy colors to match the Southern Italian and Northern African decor of its concept.

Verōnika

Hidden within Fotografiska New York, a posh Swedish photography museum near Manhattan's Gramercy Park, Verōnika is a pillar of sophistication and style. When it redesigned its website in 2022, it opted for something fittingly darker and sleeker — with special prominence placed on its ornate, designer-fashion-brand style logo. Dimly lit photography shows only part of the building's exterior, creating the same sense of size and grandeur that the concept aims to create on-premises.

Yellow Rose

Despite its humble exterior, Yellow Rose is a bustling Tex-Mex restaurant that New York-based Texans have called a "true portal" back home. Although this comes through in its brand design, it needed to redesign its website to match the energy, spirit and color of its ambiance. Since everything is bigger in Texas, its new website opens with can't-miss food photography, while the rest of the site uses floral patterns to connect back to its name and concept.

Bottle Stop Wine Bar

Bottle Stop is a neighborhood wine bar, restaurant and retail shop with national accolades. Its website explains this in writing, but it also makes visitors feel it with elegant design and artistic, black-and-white photography. The UX of the site is simple yet comprehensive, with clickable sections in the header along with a "long scroll" effect from top to bottom.

Boucherie

Traditional French concept Boucherie maintained the classic design elements of its old site, but added some important new features that supercharged its digital presence. Most notably, it updated its homepage to start with a beautiful custom video, which captivates users as cuts through seemingly every part of the restaurant. The video perfectly balances footage of ambiance, decor, front-of-house, back-of-house, servers, cooks and staples of French cuisine. It's an effective way to draw users in, while the rest of the site provides more straightforward information.

Left Coast Brewing Co.

Irvine & San Clemente, CA | leftcoastbrewing.com

Like Boucherie, Left Coast Brewing Co. updated its homepage to start with a beautiful custom video. Though the concepts are very different, the videos serve a similar purpose: Showcasing the mood, food and energy of the space. This is extra important for a business like Left Coast Brewing, which has fashioned an ideal environment for beer drinkers to hang out and sample its creative menu of brews. Without a proper space for video, its old website couldn't communicate that as effectively.
